How to be visible on social media

How to be visible on social media

It’s easy to say that you should just make good content based on principles, then iterate, and that’s it.

But in reality, social media posts live in a VERY complicated world.

You want the algorithm to be happy. You want the audience to be happy. And at the same time you want actual business results from this, not just views and followers.

Speaking about the algorithm: to have actual distribution (and therefore visibility) of your posts, you need to care about more things than just “goodness” of content.

Your account health plays a role.

What you typically post about plays a role.

What you consume on the platform (topics, creators, niches) can play a role.

What specific words you use (some of them are considered spammy) and what hashtags (IG/TT)

What hooks and formats you use. Do they ignite early engagement or no one reads.

Are you contrarian enough to make ideas resonate, but not controversial enough to burn your reputation.

How many ACTIVE people do you have in your audience/network. Do they engage with your content or just read and ignore.

Quality content is king, but these factors can kill any king.

That’s why the same exact content can perform for one creator and not for another. And that’s why you can repost exactly the same piece in a few months and it’ll outperform the previous one 100x.

So when you’re judging the results of your posts - keep these in mind. The issue may lie outside of the content itself.
